SommiT is a gathering of food and wine professionals from within the hospitality industry at large. Attendees may include restaurant professionals both service and culinary, retail sales buyers and sellers, food and wine writers and broadcasters, hoteliers, wine importers, producers and their distributors. These people all share dedication to their trades alongside a profound love for wine, food and service.
The event includes discussion and debate with international authorities in many and varied areas of hospitality. SommiT features an experiential Wine and Food Synergy workshop developed in the US and distinctive as the only program of its kind to receive accreditation from the American Culinary Federation.
There will be tastings featuring the VIP grapes/wines of this years event: Riesling and Grenache/ Garnacha. All forums encourage interaction throughout. On Monday 9th October 2023, for the first time the Star Wine List will announce the Irish winners of the best wine lists and the teams behind them at an award ceremony taking place during SommiT 23.
SommiT for Professionals will take place from Monday 9th – Tuesday 10th October 2023 at SETU University Campus in Waterford.

A promised window onto skills often considered secret! Surprise. Delight. Educate.
On Sunday 8th October, 2023 at the historic Waterford Medieval Museum & Wine Vault, guests are being invited to take an inside look at the skills & expertise used in by those working in the hospitality industry. This unique event offers you the chance to chat one-on-one with sommeliers, chefs, service professionals, artisan food and those working in the wine industry.
Come along and spend a Sunday afternoon learning more about distinctive food and sampling the goods, there is also the opportunity to try an array of beverages, including wine, to learn more about them. The SommiT Enthusiast ticket price is €25.00 per person.
