Bodegas Amézola de la Mora

The history of Bodegas Amézola de la Mora dates back to 1816, when the great-great-grandfather of the current owners (Maria and Cristina), Domingo Salustiano Manso de Zúñiga y Areyzaga VIII Count of Hervías and Vizconde de Negueruela, built one of the oldest wineries in La Rioja in ashlar stone in Torremontalbo.
Throughout the 1970s and early 1980s, brothers Iñigo and Javier Amézola (father and uncle of Maria and Cristina), took up the family’s winemaking tradition by transforming the sixty hectares inherited from cereals into vineyards, and rebuilding the old 19th century winery.
In 1995 Maria & Cristina’s mother Christina Downes, was faced with the challenge of leading the wineries after the sudden and premature death of the girls uncle in 1995 and our father in 1999. Today the sisters have become the youngest winemakers in Spain, represent the fifth generation of this resiliiant family.
They run the winery it in honor of their forefathers memory, promoting, with fresh and young air, tradition and family philosophy, “wines with a family flavor”.
The Liberator – Master of Wine Richard Kelley#

Rick, The Liberator. Rick is the alter ego of Master of Wine, Richard Kelley.
Over the past 25 years, Richard has become one of the most respected authorities on South African wine in the UK and beyond. Between 1995 and 2002, he lived and worked in the Cape, witnessing the renaissance of the post-apartheid wine industry. Throughout this fruitful period, he established a healthy rapport with the great and the good of the local wine scene, affording him access to their distinguished cellars.
In addition, Richard has also been:
● A regular panel taster for South African Wine magazine.
● A judge for the Old Mutual Trophy Wine Show; South Africa’s most prestigious competition.
● A contributor to the award winning Platter’s South African Wines.
● A contributor to Grape, South Africa’s independent wine viewpoint.
He returns to the Cape several times a year on a mission to uncover – and liberate – the hidden gems of the Cape.
Zeni Winery

The Zeni winery is located and operates in Bardolino, on the slopes of the moraines hills along the eastern shore of Lake Garda. The Zeni family has spent the last 150 years dedicating themselves to producing some of the finest wines in Verona. Zeni’s lineup is broad and includes releases from Bardolino, Custoza, Lugana, Valpolicella, and Soave.
Land holdings amount to 60 hectares of vines, and the family operates two wineries, one located in Bardolino and the other in Valpolicella. Zeni’s world-renowned wine museum drives attention to the company, receiving over 100,000 visitors a year. It is a true family affair at Zeni with Fausto Zeni acting as oenologist and agronomist, who works alongside his sisters Elena and Federica Zeni, who are specialized in export and sales, as well as enotourism and group hospitality. They are guided with wisdom and experience by their mother Mariarosa Montecchi, a true pillar of the family.
