Anne founded WineOnline.ie with Gerry in 1999. Anne & Gerry studied and completed their Spirit Education Trust diplomas together in the same class of 1991. Both were super passionate about wine and were keen to embrace a brand new concept in selling on the internet. This was before companies like Ryanair had a website! She was a founding member of Dublin Wine Club Premier Cru, which is still running after 20 years.
Today Anne is a member of the Irish Guild of Sommeliers and is one of 500 international judges at the International Taste Awards, held in Berlin every March. She has an impeccable tasting palate and is regularly asked for her opinion on wines by members of the Irish wine trade, most of whom she has known for a long time.
She is part of the tasting panel of four, that assesses every single wine or spirit before it gets listed at WineOnline.ie. If it is not a wine or spirit she would buy, she wouldn’t expect you to! She lives by the mantra that when you buy anything from WineOnline.ie – ‘If you don’t love it, we will take it back!’
Anne is always happy to advise on wines and is on the phone from Monday through Thursday each week.
